Care&Maintenance
OPALINE HAIR CAN LAST 2+ YEARS IF PROPERLY MAINTAINED.
HERE'S HOW to maintain your investment & keep your hair looking beautiful long-term
Washing
- Wash extensions regularly. Biweekly is the standard, but frequency depends on use.
- Use a sulfate-free, moisturizing shampoo.
- Rinse thoroughly to avoid build up.
- Follow with a hydrating conditioner from mid-shaft to ends; avoid the weft.
-
When detangling, always detangle in a downward motion with a wide-tooth comb. Start from the ends and work your way up, and avoid scrunching or rough handling.
-
If time allows, air-drying hair is recommended.
Conditioning & Moisture
- Deep condition every 2-3 washes to maintain softness and luster.
- Use a leave-in condition or light hair oil to keep extensions moisturized between washes.
- Avoid heavy product buildup near the weft.
Heat Styling
- Always apply a heat protect before any heat styling.
- High heat shortens the lifespan of your extensions. When styling, keep heat settings moderate.
- If your hair has been over-styled or lightly heat damaged:
- Apply a deep conditioner or mask.
- Place the hair under a dryer or heat cap for 30–60 minutes.
- Rinse & air dry
Sleeping
- Wear a silk or satin bonnet, or sleep on silk pillowcase.
- Never sleep with wet extensions.
- For curly textures: braid or loosely twist extensions before bed.
Storage After Removal
- Post-installation maintenance is so important for longevity! After you remove your extensions:
- Wash the hair immediately.
- Deep condition and rise thoroughly.
- Allow the hair to air dry.
- Store the hair in your Opaline Hair Co. satin storage bag.
